Yes, Rental boats can also take part in our convivial contest for it is THE BOAT which is the competitor not the crew. For example, Madame Dominique Renouf of the Association Bateaux pour la planète (Boats for the Planet) runs the Phoebus Boat Club, a fleet of solar-powered catamaran houseboats for rental from Castelsarrasin on the Two Rivers Canal in south-east France. Boat names “L’O del’Herault”, “Soleil d’Aquitaine”, “Coche Solaire”.
Having discovered our competition, Dominique has agreed to rent out her boats to families/ groups of friends/etc for one to two weeks. She presents them with our website link for our contest and the pbg logbook of the boat they have hired, to which they may or may not decide to add. Each of these rentals counts as one cruise. Day or hour rentals do not count. Then they may also decide, during the week to have a music session on board, photo it or a nocturnal star-gazing cruise and log it. At the end of our contest year, Dominique will submit the logbook to our Jury. If you run or know of somebody who runs a similar e-boat rental firm, there is still time to enroll.
